NETS 104, JAZZ 88
We can imagine Kevin Garnett uttered some harsh words, perhaps sprinkled with profanities, on the team plane flying back from Orlando. However he relayed it, the message was such: that non-effort Sunday against the Magic was unacceptable for a team with championship aspirations, and it can?t happen at home against the Jazz.
?We?re trying to form something here. Part of it is consistency,? Garnett said. ?We can?t come out with a passionate game against Miami, and come out and play the way we played in Orlando.
?I was just letting them know that consistency is the difference between great teams and OK teams.?
The Nets heeded those words, practiced thoroughly on Monday and thrashed the Jazz on Tuesday. The process, as the Nets call the early stages of this season, looked a lot better against their winless opponent.
Two days after that embarrassing effort, the Nets pasted Utah, 104-88, in a wire-to-wire breeze highlighted by Brook Lopez?s 27 points.

The Nets bench looks Michael Kors Uk on during the first quarter.
?When we look at ourselves and what we want to be as a team, we can?t play like we did in Orlando, we can?t have games like those,? Deron Williams said.
The Nets (2-2) are still undefeated at Michael Kors Kingsbury home, but this was easier than last week?s victory over the Heat. It was a cakewalk.
Brooklyn started on a 12-2 run and didn?t let up, with six players finishing in double digits. Lopez was the catalyst, scoring 19 in the first half and dominating Utah?s young frontcourt. ?I think my guys just found me in good position,? he said.
Williams notched 10 points and eight assists in 24 minutes, beating his former team for the first time in five tries. He admitted that toppling Utah meant something extra. Joe Johnson added 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting while Paul Pierce had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Garnett, who said he was going to be more aggressive offensively, was limited to 14 minutes. He scored four points on five shots.
None of the starters played more than 26 minutes. Jason Kidd, who was suspended for the first two games after pleading guilty to DUI, won his first home game on the sideline. It was the kind of game he envisioned for resting his players.

The coach?s vision was easy to implement against Sale Michael Kors the Jazz. The ball moved, the looks were open and the shots fell.
The Nets shot 51% and their biggest lead was 26 in the fourth quarter as the bench closed it out.
On a night when the Nets dominated, the result from two days earlier looked like a lesson learned.
?The whole season?s going to be about lessons. What do you learn from your previous experience?? Jason Terry said.
?And for us, what it was is that you can?t take any game for granted. You have to go Michael Kors Snakeskin Purse out every night and play as hard as you possibly can.?

MINNEAPOLIS ? David Kahn is out as president of basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Flip Saunders is coming in.
Three people with knowledge of the situation tell The Associated Press that team owner Glen Taylor has decided not to pick up the option for next season on Kahn?s contract. Taylor is also putting the finishing touches on a deal to hire Saunders as Kahn?s replacement. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made.
Kahn spent four seasons leading the Timberwolves. He helped bring point guard Ricky Rubio and coach Rick Adelman to Minnesota, but his teams went 89-223 and missed the playoffs Michael Michael Kors Handbags in all four of his seasons.
Saunders, who coached the Wolves from 1995-2005, could have his deal finished as soon as Friday. He led the team to eight playoff appearances as a coach and the Western Conference finals in 2004-05.

Kevin Love (42) and Ricky Rubio (9), give the Timberwolves a promising young core.
Taylor?s decision brings an end to a polarizing reign for Kahn. After serving as an executive with the Indiana Pacers, Kahn was a surprise hire in 2009 to replace longtime Timberwolves Michael Kors Sale executive Kevin McHale. Kahn eventually decided not to bring McHale back as head coach, then went about a massive rebuild of a team that was still trying to move on after trading franchise player Kevin Garnett to Boston in 2007.
Kahn tabbed Kurt Rambis to usher in a new identity and style of play, but he lasted just two seasons on the job. With cleaning up the team?s salary cap situation a priority in the first season, the Wolves won just 15 games with a Michael Kors On Sale collection of retreads and journeymen surrounding Al Jefferson, who was in his first season back from a torn ACL, and Kevin Love, who was in his second season in the league.
Kahn and Rambis clashed repeatedly on the direction of the team and the philosophy on the court. Rambis was fired with a record of 32-132 and Kahn was able to lure Adelman in 2011 to take over a roster that was just starting to take shape. With Rubio emerging as a young dynamo in his rookie season Michaels Kors Handbags and Love asserting himself as perhaps the best power forward in the game, the Timberwolves were on track to end a long playoff drought until Rubio went down with a torn ACL in March.
Perhaps more damaging, Kahn drew Love?s wrath by refusing to give him a maximum five-year extension in January. Love Michael Kors Sale Handbags instead signed a four-year deal with an opt-out after three seasons and didn?t hide his disappointment. He seethed behind the scenes and publicly about the perceived Michael Kors Handbags Outlet slight, a grudge that would carry over into this season.

?I?ve always been scared of saying the wrong thing,? Collins said in the story released on the magazine?s website Monday. ?But each time I tell another person, I feel stronger and sleep a little more soundly.?
Collins was drafted 18th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2001 NBA draft and later traded to the Nets ? then playing their home games in New Jersey ? where he spent seven seasons. He is an unrestricted free agent after playing with the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards this season.

The stars of the world?s biggest peep show just turned 60, but no way are they ready to retire. These chicks are still hot, and they?re booked solid for the Easter season.
We are Michael Kors Bags Uk referring, of course, to the electric-hued, sugar-coated, iconic marshmallow Peeps. The beloved birds have only grown in popularity over the decades. Devoted fans (among them Justin Bieber) eat the fluffy snacks, but the candy flock has also inspired art installations (see ?Peepal Conclave?) and viral video memes. NASA even sent Peeps to space. For many, Peeps are more than a sweet seasonal treat. They?re an obsession.
?Peeps have a cult-like following,? said Mark Wright, director of Operations Business Management at Just Born Inc., the confection company that makes Peeps.
David Handschuh/New York Daily News
Just made Peeps are naked...they have no eyes and no color.
Don?t believe him? Just try an online search of the phrase ?Peep jousting.? You get more than 3,000 video results for the strange phenomenon where Peep devotees poke two chicks with toothpicks, positioned like a knight?s lance, then shove them into the microwave for battle. The Peep that explodes first is the loser.
It takes a lot of Peeps to feed the nation?s Easter baskets. Just Born hatches an estimated two billion Peeps per year in its Bethlehem, Pa. factory ? half of those specifically to meet Easter sales demands, Wright said.
The Daily News got a rare tour through the plant, usually closed to the public and media, to see how the plucky Peeps are produced.

Here Peeps get eyes put on by machines.

First, you smell the cinnamon. Just Born also produces the chewy jelly bean-like sweets Hot Tamales and Mike-and-Ike. As you walk deeper into the factory, the air tastes like sugar.
The Peeps production line is amazingly efficient. Today the entire process from first marshmallowy squirt to fully formed Peep takes only six minutes. In 1954 Michael Kors Store when the company first opened, Peeps were hand-piped and the manual process to create one package of Peeps took 27 hours.
David Handschuh/New York Daily News
?It?s sweet. I work with marshmallows,? says a Michael Kors Handbags Peeps worker named Kathy.
Here?s how it works now:
First, unformed marshmallow goo is piped out of a machine called the ?extruder,? which creates the trademark Peep silhouette ? squat round body with a curly beak. The Peeps plop onto Michael Kors Bags a sugar-coated conveyor belt, which covers their underbellies.
Then they hit the sugar chamber. Inside, a whoosh of compressed air kicks up loose sugar from the conveyor belt and swirls it like a tornado to dust the rest of the Peep with sweetness.
David Handschuh/New York Daily News
When Peeps first arrived in 1954 the the manual process to make one package took 27 hours.
Next, they hum along on the belt to the ?Peepsonality? station, where another machine dips over the chicks to add black sugar dots for eyes. They Michael Kors Bags On Sale fly under cooling fans and finally head towards packaging.

Wright said the company increases production nine months ahead of Easter to meet demand, adding that Peeps have a two-year shelf life.

Peeps are manufactured at the Just Born factory in Bethlehem, Pa., where the air tastes like sugar.
The Peep empire is still Michael Kors Handbags growing. The family-owned Just Born ? now run by third-generation owner Ross Born ? is expanding its flavor menu to include bubble gum, party cake and lemonade. They are also stomping across the holiday calendar adding Christmas and Halloween-themed Peeps. And for the first time in Peep history, the chicks will star in a live action candy commercial. Previous commercials were animated.
Just Born has also upped its online retail presence in recent years and has opened several brick and mortar shops including locations in the Mall of America and the Sands Casino Resort in Pennsylvania.
Part of what keeps the Peeps machine cranking is its people.
Employees are loyal and stay for years. Kathy, who works on the packaging line and asked that her last name be withheld, has been with the company for 17 years. Asked what she likes best about her job, she answered simply, ?It?s sweet. I work with marshmallows.?
Wright, who has been with Peeps for 27 years, says the company works hard to create a comfy nest for its staffers. ?It?s the most important foundation of how the company operates internally and externally,? he said.
